and retrace the historic path of the original marathon route that started it all, 2500 years ago. Bring your family and friends to experience the history, culture, cuisine, majesty and incomparable splendor of Greece! Itinerary Overview
Day 1 — The Adventure Begins!
Time to board your international flight to Athens! This is an overnight flight which puts you into Greece the following day.
Day 2 — Welcome to Greece!
Upon checking into your hotel, the group will receive a short orientation and then be free to rest or explore. In the evening, celebrate with a welcome dinner in the Plaka.
Day 3 — Athens
Start the day with a morning jog around the base of the renowned Acropolis! After a hearty Greek breakfast, we’ll tour the Acropolis and the ancient Parthenon, along with the Acropolis Museum. Lunch will be in the Plaka area, then spend the afternoon at the Marathon Expo and pick up your race day packets.

Day 4 — Race Day Orientation and 10K Run
Today we will cheer on the 5K participants and prepare for tomorrow’s Marathon and 10K runs. Race day orientation will round out the day.
Day 5 — Marathon!
Race Day is here! Our team will make sure you arrive at the starting line for the Marathon or 10K with plenty of time to warm up, and we will be available to assist you with your race day needs. We will also make sure family members and friends can cheer for you at the finish line in the Athens Panathenaic Olympic Stadium, the only stadium in the world built entirely out of marble!
Day 6 — Temple of Poseidon
After a leisurely morning, we will take a drive along the beautiful Mediterranean coast to Cape Sounion and the stunning 2500-year-old Temple of Poseidon. After lunch, we will head back to Athens to the National Archaeological Museum showcasing ancient treasures such as the famous Mask of Agamemnon.
Day 7 — Day Cruise
Prepare for a leisurely day, sailing the Aegean Sea for a one-day cruise to the islands of Hydra, Poros and Aegina, located in the Saronic Gulf. Disembark on three distinctly different islands, enjoying the local marketplace, food, and highlights of each of these quaint island towns. We’ll finish the day with dinner and dancing at a bouzouki restaurant in Athens!
Day 8 — Delphi
After breakfast, we travel to Delphi for a visit to the stunning and serene mountain site that ancient Greeks considered to be the center of the earth, home to the famous Oracle of Delphi, and many other ancient treasures. Our lunch will be at a picturesque ski village, then back to Athens for free time in the Plaka that evening.
Day 9 — Corinth, Mycenae, & Nafplion

Checking out of our hotel, we leave Athens for a scenic morning drive to ancient biblical Corinth and the famous Corinth Canal. Later, we visit Mycenae, one of the world’s most important archaeological sites, then it’s on to the seaside village of Napflion, a most magical and charming historic city. Enjoy dinner on your own in a beautiful plaza at one of the numerous cafes and restaurants on the cobblestone streets.
Days 10 & 11 — Epidaurus, Nemea Winery, and back to Athens!
After breakfast, we check out of the hotel in Nafplion, and take a short drive to visit the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus. This UNESCO site is the most famous and best-preserved of all of Greece’s ancient theaters. Then it’s on to Nemea, Greece’s renowned wine region, for lunch and a winery tour, pairing culinary delights with the best local wines before we head back to Athens. We will end the day, and our time in Greece, with a rooftop Farewell Dinner overlooking the spectacularly lit night-time Acropolis.
